This page explains how petsmith.help uses cookies and similar browser storage. The short version: we use very little, and nothing happens behind your back.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are essential (they keep a form secure, for instance); others remember preferences or measure how a site is used. Alongside cookies, sites can use local storage, a similar browser feature that holds small pieces of data without sending them to the server on every request.
What we actually use
Strictly necessary
- PHP session cookie (
PHPSESSID) — set when you open a page containing our enrolment form. It exists to protect the form against cross-site request forgery and expires when you close your browser.
Preference storage
- Consent choice (
hb_consent, local storage) — records whether you pressed Accept or Reject on our cookie notice, so we do not ask you again on every visit. It stays until you clear your browser data or change your choice.
What we do not use
We currently set no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking cookies and no social-media pixels. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first and the consent notice will ask you again before anything new is stored.
Changing your mind
Click the small gear button in the lower-left corner of any page to reopen the cookie notice and change your choice. You can also delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings — every major browser has instructions under "clear browsing data". Blocking the essential session cookie may stop the enrolment form from submitting.
