Terms & Conditions

Last revised: 2 June 2026

These terms form the agreement between you and Harbourline Learning Sdn. Bhd. (Registration No. 202201038854 (1479002-D)) of 27-2 Lebuh Gereja, George Town, 10200 Penang, Malaysia, when you enrol in any Harbourline English Academy course, in studio or online. Enrolling means you accept them, so please read them once properly — they are short by legal standards.

1. Enrolment and placement

A place on a course is confirmed once we receive your enrolment confirmation and the first payment. Course levels are assigned based on your placement check; we may recommend a different level after the first two lessons if it is clearly better for your progress, and any fee difference will be adjusted fairly.

2. Fees and payment

Fees are stated in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and payable per term, before the term begins. We accept bank transfer, DuitNow and major cards. A term fee covers tuition, materials, lesson recordings and your certificate of completion. Fees do not cover external exam registration (for example IELTS test fees), which you arrange and pay directly with the test centre.

3. Attendance, rescheduling and recordings

Group lessons run to a fixed timetable and missed group lessons are not refunded, but recordings of your class remain available to you for the duration of the course plus thirty days. One-to-one sessions may be rescheduled free of charge with at least 24 hours notice; sessions cancelled later than that, or missed without notice, are counted as delivered.

4. Your conduct

We keep classes small so everyone gets heard, which only works in an atmosphere of respect. We reserve the right to remove, without refund, any student who repeatedly disrupts lessons, harasses students or staff, or shares class recordings outside the class. Recordings are for personal revision only and remain our property.

5. Young Learners

Children must be signed in and out by a named adult. Parents agree to collect children promptly at the end of class; we cannot supervise children more than fifteen minutes after a session ends. Monthly progress notes are provided to the enrolling parent or guardian only.

6. Our commitments and limits

We commit to qualified tutors, capped class sizes and honest progress reporting. We do not guarantee any specific exam score or outcome — nobody honestly can — though we publish our cohort averages openly. Our total liability in connection with any course is limited to the fees you paid for that course. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Malaysian law.

7. Changes and cancellations by us

If we must cancel a lesson (tutor illness, public emergency), we will reschedule it or extend the term; if we cancel an entire course before it starts, you receive a full refund. Where a public health directive prevents in-studio teaching, lessons move online for the affected period rather than being cancelled.

8. General

Refunds and cooling-off rights are set out in our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms, along with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts. If any clause is found unenforceable, the rest continue to apply.
